Drovada Rechargeable Moisture Bag

What it is: A reusable desiccant bag containing 100g of high-capacity silica gel beads enclosed in a woven fabric pouch. Used to reduce humidity in small enclosed spaces.

What it does: Absorbs water vapor from the surrounding air through silica gel adsorption. Each 100g bag holds up to 40g of moisture at full saturation. Reducing humidity below 60% prevents the conditions mold, mildew, rust, and corrosion need to grow.

How it works: Place the bag in any small enclosed space. The silica gel beads passively pull moisture from the air over 1-6 weeks depending on humidity levels. A color-change indicator window on the bag shifts from blue (dry) to pink (saturated) so you know when to recharge.

How to recharge:

• Microwave (recommended): 600W for 5-10 minutes total, heated in 2-3 minute intervals. Check between cycles. Do not exceed 10 minutes total. Do not microwave on high power. Place a small cup of water in the microwave during heating. Allow the bag to fully cool before reuse.
• Sunlight: Place in direct sunlight for 1-2 days until indicator returns to blue.
• Oven: 212°F (100°C) for 1 hour on a heat-safe baking sheet. Do not exceed 212°F.

The indicator returns to blue once fully recharged. Repeat as needed.

Where to use it:
Closets, bathroom and kitchen cabinets, under sinks, car and truck interiors, gun safes, ammo storage, RVs and campers, boat cabins, basement corners, storage containers, drawers, gym lockers, camera bags, instrument cases, document storage.

Coverage: Up to 50 cubic feet of enclosed space per bag.

Where NOT to use it:

• Large open rooms (use an electric dehumidifier instead)
• Spaces with active water leaks (fix the leak first)
• Spaces with existing visible mold growth (clean the mold first, then use Drovada to prevent regrowth)
• Outdoor or semi-outdoor spaces with continuous airflow

Drovada works by removing the moisture mold needs to grow. It won't kill or remove existing mold colonies — those need to be cleaned physically. But once the visible mold is cleaned, Drovada prevents it from coming back by keeping humidity below the levels mold requires to survive.

Most customers notice reduced humidity within 48-72 hours and a fading of musty odors within 1-3 weeks. Visible improvements (drier surfaces, less condensation, no new mildew spots) typically show within the first month.

With proper recharging, each bag is designed to last 2-3 years of continuous use. The silica gel inside doesn't degrade — what eventually wears out is the fabric bag itself with repeated microwave cycles. Most customers find that the bag is still performing well even after dozens of recharge cycles.

Drovada is designed for small enclosed spaces. It won't be effective in large open rooms, whole basements, or spaces with active water leaks or poor ventilation. For those, you'll need a different solution like an electric dehumidifier or addressing the underlying water issue.

Recharging Instructions and Warnings

Microwave method (recommended):

• Use a microwave-safe plate. Set microwave to 600W (medium power), NOT high.
• Heat in 2-3 minute intervals, checking between each cycle. Total heating time: 5-10 minutes maximum.
• Never leave the microwave unattended while the bag is heating.
• Allow the bag to fully cool before handling or reusing. The bag will be hot to the touch immediately after microwaving.
• Do not microwave the bag for longer than 10 minutes total. Excessive heating may damage the bag, ignite the fabric, or cause the silica gel to release dust.
• Do not microwave if the bag appears damaged, torn, or shows signs of melting from previous use.
• Stop microwaving immediately if you see smoke, sparking, or smell burning. Power off the microwave, allow contents to cool, and dispose of the damaged bag safely.

Sunlight method:

• Place the bag in direct sunlight for 1-2 days until the indicator returns to blue.
• Do not place on heat-sensitive surfaces or materials that may be damaged by prolonged sun exposure.

Oven method:

• Set oven to 212°F (100°C). Do NOT exceed this temperature.
• Heat for up to 1 hour, checking periodically.
• Place the bag on a heat-safe baking sheet, not directly on the oven rack.
• Never leave the oven unattended while the bag is heating.
• Allow the bag to fully cool inside the oven before removing.

General Safety Warnings

• This product is not edible. The contents of the bag are silica gel, which is non-toxic but should not be ingested. Keep away from children under 3 years of age.
• Do not open or tear the bag. The silica gel beads inside are small and present a choking hazard.
• Keep the bag away from pets that may chew or tear it open.
